I’m Nancy Jahns. My husband, Ryan, and I have been in Brenham since 1988. We joined FBC in 1989. We have four children; we are grateful to have had FBC partner with us as we raised Jill, Ty, Meg, and Todd.. Macy joined our family when she and Ty married.
I grew up in central south Texas in the small farming community of Geronimo. I attended Texas A&M University where I obtained a B.S. in curriculum and instruction.I taught many years in Brenham ISD where I gained experience and training in general classroom instruction, gifted and talented education, special education, and Reading Recovery. After 15 years, I came to First Baptist Church School; our family was struggling due to well-being of one of our children during this time. FBCS was key in the healing of our child. It ministered to me, too. I’m so grateful FBCS was an option. While here, I taught third grade for one year and sixth grade for seven years. In 2011, I received the Barbara Bush Educator of the Year. I went back into the public school sector in 2012 and taught first grade until the Lord called me to come back to FBCS as the administrator in 2015. Go
My goal in education, whether it be in a public or Christian setting, is to help make the people I serve better. Not because of anything I can do, but because of what HE can do! I consider it a privilege to be able to share the gospel and pray with children, their families, and staff.
