Welcome Brenham's First Baptist Church!

Brenham’s First Baptist Church has been pointing people to Jesus Christ in Washington County since 1846. Because of God’s graciousness towards us, we have witnessed generations of people in our community impacted by the Good News of Christ Jesus. While we are one of the oldest churches in Washington County, our focus is on being a church for today’s Washington County. As we prepare for our 180th anniversary in December of 2026, God is also leading us to focus on the future and how God might work through us as we move forward. You can learn more about our “Vision 2026: Deep & Wide: Deeper Roots, Greater Reach” by clicking here:  Vision 2026:  Deep & Wide

As a Baptist church that cooperates with the Independence Baptist Association, F.I.R.M. Baptist Area, the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and the Southern Baptist Convention, we also have some foundational convictions that help define who we are and what we believe. We believe that the Bible is the final authority for our faith and practice and that our beliefs are in essential agreement with the following documents that are a part of our bylaws:

-        The Baptist Faith and Message (1963):  Beliefs & Denominational Relationships

-        Definitions of Identity, Gender and Sex, Marriage, and the Sanctity of Life:  Click here for more info.
